Cinnamon Spice Coffee and Fall: A Classic Combo

Instant coffee is back better that ever with VIA

By Mark Nassal

Starbucks recently came out with a new coffee product called VIA. VIA is an instant coffee reformulated for the twenty-first century. The initial rollout included a medium and dark roast. Both are great! I carry a couple packages of each in my backpack and computer bag for when I’m out of the house. It’s also a great product for the home. If you are the only coffee drinker in the house, it allows you to make single servings of high quality coffee.

VIA is essentially a combination of top quality instant coffee and a small amount of finely ground traditional coffee. This combination makes for rich smooth instant coffee that rivals traditionally brewed.

I was happy with the two basic varieties, but now with the fall and winter holidays, Starbucks has released a new line of flavored VIA coffee’s. I purchased  Cinnamon and Spice and really like it. If this is any representation of the rest of the line, they have a winer.

The package contains six individual single serving packets. To brew the coffee, just boil some water, pour the contents of the packet into the cup, and stir. The packet contains everything you need. For this particular flavor, the packet contains sugar, spices and a medium roast coffee. About the only thing you may want to add is cream.

If you have tried any of the other new flavors let us know what you think.
